Being a first timer at Golistan and not knowing what to order or how much to, the Golistan staff was very helpful guiding me through the choices. We settled for two mixed grill sets which came with an assortment of grilled meats (lamb, chicken, beef, kofti), a green salad, yoghurt dip and Afghan bread.
The bread is longer than my arm!
This was more than enough to feed two adults and one eight year old child with plenty of bread spare for the next day. We got our's take away. Golistan takes great pride in the timing of your order. They started to grill the bread over coals just as we arrived to pick up our order. Therefore it stayed warm and crispy all the way home.
The photos does not do the food justice. The meats were cooked over a charcoal fire and smelt so wonderfully smoky and aromatic. The bread was a winner. I could eat their bread alone and be happy. It was crispy, slightly charred and so soft inside... It would convert any die-hard Atkins peeps.
Verdict - we loved it!
Overall
Only one of the two mixed grills sets is shown above. The two mixed grills set us back $30 cash with a $1 surcharge if you pay by any other means.
