Yum!
We started with a carafe of the house made lemonade - slightly tart and lovely and refreshing. I usually add extra water to tone down the sweetness.
Clockwise from top: cheese pastry cigars, minced lamb flat breads, vegetarian vine leaves, lamb ribs, halloumi fries
I didn't try the warak areesh (vegetarian vine leaves) as I needed to leave stomach room for the rest! The rakakat jibneh are light cheesy pastry cigars - they'll do! The halloumi fries are... well it's halloumi, fried, with tahini, mint, pomegranate and I'm pretty sure some pomegranate molasses. You need to eat them quickly while still hot as they go a bit rubbery when they cool - but freshly cooked they are the antidote to the wait for the end of Friday. They give all the good feels. The lamb ribs were fall off the bone tender and tasty, just a little too fatty for me. The arayis, minced spiced lamb flatbread with pine nuts and zaatar will become a regular order.
Verdict
