A recent craving for f&c led me to try out Flake Attack. I believe this is a chain of fish and chipperies. The online reviews for the place seemed okay and not overly negative.
For moi, I ordered a grilled flounder. This was pretty good. A large fillet of flounder which seemed to be fresh (or at the very least, it wasn't a piece of fish that had spent a good part of its life in the deep freeze) and succulent. The batter was thin and nicely seasoned with some herbs.
I also got a serve of chips. These were also pretty good - chunky, nice crispness on the outside and a softy mealy inner.
The Lawyer got the Attack Pack, which comprised of a fried flake, 2 calamari rings, 2 scallops, 1 seafood piece, chips and tartare sauce. He was quite happy with the fish and especially the scallops, although I personally though the batter was a tad thick for all of the items.
Verdict
Overall
I'd say that there would be better ones out there, but if you're in need to bump up your cholestrol, Flake Attack is a good enough fish and chippery in a pinch.Find it at
