Naked Wines Australia (by invitation)

Ahead of our road trip to Avenel to meet with winemaker Sam Plunkett next week, Naked Wines Australia sent us a lovely package of wines to sample.  Have you heard of Naked Wines Australia?  It's kinda like a collective of small, independent winemakers across Australia.  NWA buys the grapes from the winemakers upfront so that the small winemakers have financial security while they take the time to make great wine.  In turn, customers can purchase great wine directly, which is more bang for their buck.

With such gorgeous bottles of wine, we couldn't resist doing an impromptu photo shoot...

Jen Pfeiffer comes from a long family history of making wine in Rutherglen.  She's travelled the world to learn the craft and along the way she's won over 300 medals and 12 trophies... just to name a few of her accolades.  She's also achieved a few "firsts", including making Australia's first rosé liqueur wine in 2008, the Pfeiffer Seriously Pink.

Wines By Sam makes small-batch, premium-quality wine and is run by Sam Plunkett.  Sam's winery is located in the cool climate region of the Strathbogies Ranges in Central Victoria. They've got approximately 170 acres of vineyard in production with varieties including Riesling, Savagnin, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Tempranillo, Lagrein, Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz.

Boy Meets Girl is headed up by husband and wife team, Adrian (Boy) and Rebecca (Girl).  Adrian is the winemaker and has worked in some amazing wineries in world renowned wine regions such as the Hunter Valley and Yarra Valley in Australia and the Franciacorta region in Northern Italy.  Rebecca does the marketing and has worked with Four Sisters and De Bortoli Wines.
