Wow what a fantastic competition! I'd love to win this one. My favourite wine would have to be pinot noir. It can be great at any price point and goes with lots of different meals (or just on its own, of course!). Not too heavy and not too sweet, but is definitely fun and fruity. The colour is so pretty too! Of course, I'm also partial to a glass of sparkling rose with ice on a hot day! :D

I love Prosecco. It is fun and very bubbly and designed to make you snockers afterwards.

My favourite wine is a Lambrusco red. It's typically dry and full bodied, with a deep red colouring. Lambrusco is a great match to many northern italian culinary delights, including polenta baccala and pasta schuta. If you're planning on drinking Lambrusco without the meal, I'd opt for the lightly sparkling or 'frizzante' variety - perfect on a hot day.
