Harry Ramsden's Fish and Chips, England by Bureaucrat

Known as 'London by Sea', Brighton is what Portsea is to Melbourne.

I love Brighton because it reminds me so much of Melbourne. Little lane ways filled with funky art, jewellery, music, organic foods, knick knacks, good food and a thriving gay scene. Brighton is a little bit of CBD, St Kilda, Brunswick and Fitzroy mixed up.

Growing up, I remember watching a tv show about Harry Ramsden, who made his name selling fish and chips. It's a big franchise and apparently he's in the Guinness Book record holder for the greatest number of F&C sold.

The F&C did taste very nice and the chips were perfect (crispy on the outside and mealy on the inside), but I did pass on the mushy peas.

Overall
Harry Ramsden's is a safe bet for those wanting F&C. The cod fillet is big and fresh, and there is unlimited servings of chips (although you'd be too stuffed to ask for any more!). Good and reliable. It's much better than the dodgy looking chip shops along the shore, but I'm sure there are better chipperies in Brighton.
