The thing about gigantic metropolis type shopping centres like Pacific Fair is that the many eateries there compete for business. It's a good thing for the hungry consumer. Kiddo, P and I can probably get fed on samples alone that service staff hand out outside their restaurants in The Patio, one of the designated dining areas at Pacific Fair. The samples are meant to lure you into their honey pots. And tempted we were by samples of loaded fries from The Snag Stand.
Said loaded fries...
The Snag Stand purportedly does 'Haute Dogs', small batched, artisanal hand crafted sausages with low fat meats, natural cases, gluten free with no artificial flavours and colourings.
P went for the American Classic: wood smoked Frankfurter, American yellow mustard, tomato sauce, onions, sweet relish on a brioche bun ($7.90). He enjoyed it although I would have thought it would be rather sickly sweet with all the sweet condiments on top of the already sweet brioche.
I was on an vegetarian bent and ordered the vegetarian Veg and Rocket. I should know by now that that there is not much point with having a vegetarian sausage but I temporarily forgot how bland they were and ordered it. I was regretful as the bun was a touch dry. Surely it couldn't be stale as The Snag Stand has a constant turnover...maybe it was simply dry. I'm not quite sure...
The Chili Cheese Fries (see first pic) were probably the hit of the day. With chili beef, cheddar cheese, chipotle and aoili sauce ($7.90), they were packed with flavour. I tried to not think about the calories.
