In line with my ordering preferences at a Vietnamese restaurant, I ordered a bun (warm vermicelli salad). But uncharacteristically, I ordered five spice grilled beef instead as the betel wrapped beef was sold out (and I wasn't tempted enough to go for the chicken or crab options).
For $10, this was bun was disappointing. The noodles were a tad under-cooked. There was a small handful of salad, with even less amount of herbs. And the five spice beef was dry. I didn't enjoy this and didn't feel full.

I'd definitely recommend you seek out the other Vietnamese eateries near Saigon Square. Both Ba'get and Rice Paper are similarly priced, have bigger and more generous serves and offer tastier food.Find it at

Hey I'm surprised you didn't enjoy it. You should have gone for the rice paper rolls or the bhanh mi. This is what they do good at.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried Chillbro Palatas next door? They do great ice cream and if you check into Yelp there is free ice cream on Wednesday
I'm still yet to do a review on Saigon square. I only went there once
Hi Sally, I haven't tried Chillbro next door. Thanks for the tip about the free ice cream!
