We got to try a number of famous Malaysian dishes. I wasn't able to take photos of all the dishes (ther just that many!). However, here are some of the dishes, including pork and prawn rice noodle soup...
...chicken nasi lemak.
We got to chat with Poh about her work and she is as friendly, genuine and gregarious as she appears on telly. Her new cookbook 'Same Same but Different' has a chatty tone that is all about sharing food stories and eating with friends and family. She recommended that we try to make the Szechuan snapper recipe in her first book 'Poh's Kitchen'.
...char kwai teoh...
...pan mee...
...and icy Malaysian style drinks.
Verdict: we liked it
Overall
Poh is working with the Pappa Rich team to create a series of food and drink matches known as 'Poh's Picks'. Poh's all-time favourite combo at Pappa Rich is assam laksa (a tart and aromatic fish-based laksa) that's washed down with ice kacang. Head to your nearest Pappa Rich restaurant to try them for yourself! Also have a gander at our reviews of Pappa Rich in Chadstone, QV in the CBD and Glen Waverley.
