Toledo, Brunswick by Obelix

P and I recently enjoyed a Sunday morning poking around Mrs Secondhand, a wonderful serendipitous find.  It was a second hand shop one could easily get lost in for hours. When we eventually ventured back outside, squinting in the harsh sunshine of the real world, we headed to nearby Toledo cafe for a bite.

Toledo, Brunswick, soup of the day
P being a vegetarian, ordered herself the soup of the day, made with chargrilled peppers and a side of toast.

Toledo, Brunswick, meatball salad
I, being someone who craved stodge and protein with each meal, went for the meatball salad.  This was essentially a warm meatball ragu topped with melting goat's cheese and cheddar(?) with fresh rocket on top.  I immensely enjoyed mopping up the sauce with the slices of toast.  If only there were more meatballs... I was feeling particularly ravenous that day.

The service was friendly but unintrusive, leaving us to catch up on months worth of news.

Overall

Toledo Brunswick Cafe is a friendly and intimate local cafe.  Most of their offerings are sandwichy, salady or soup.  The locals hit it up for a caffeine fix.
