WOW! Thanks to Naked Wines Australia (see our post earlier this month), we have two double passes to giveaway to our readers.  This is an am-ay-zing prize for wine and food lovers.   Join me (and a select group) this Saturday, 24 October 2015 for a guided winery tour, tasting and lunch in regional Victoria.

We've got two double tickets to giveaway for this flash competition.  Winners will be announced tomorrow at 3:00pm.

Naked Wines Australia, Sam Plunkett
Sam Plunkett is an independent winemaker based in Victoria who loves to make delicious, easy drinking Aussie wine. Naked Wines' Angel funding has enabled some super-talented winemakers to follow their dreams and craft their very own gorgeous wines. Spend the day with Sam learning about wines and, more importantly, do a lot of wine tasting and eating!

The prize

Two lucky readers will win an ‘access all areas’ double pass, which includes lunch, tastings galore and master classes with four different winemakers:

  • How a Winery Works – what actually happens to the grapes once they are picked
  • Inside Oak - the difference between various types of oak and how they can make a wine taste amazing
  • Regional Tasting - a crash course on Victorian wines. Tasting different grapes from across Victoria
  • What’s in My Wine - learn the truth about the additives and allergens in wine.

Date: Saturday, 24 October 2015

Transport will be provided.  Bus will depart Flinders Street Station bus zone (261 Flinders St) at 9:00am and return at 6:00pm.  We're spending the day at Sam Plunkett’s Winery at Avenel (about a 2 hour 15 min bus ride from Melbourne).

  1. Wow what a fantastic competition! I'd love to win this one. My favourite wine would have to be pinot noir. It can be great at any price point and goes with lots of different meals (or just on its own, of course!). Not too heavy and not too sweet, but is definitely fun and fruity. The colour is so pretty too! Of course, I'm also partial to a glass of sparkling rose with ice on a hot day! :D

  2. I love Prosecco. It is fun and very bubbly and designed to make you snockers afterwards.

  3. I just love a great merlot!

  4. My favourite wine is a Lambrusco red. It's typically dry and full bodied, with a deep red colouring. Lambrusco is a great match to many northern italian culinary delights, including polenta baccala and pasta schuta. If you're planning on drinking Lambrusco without the meal, I'd opt for the lightly sparkling or 'frizzante' variety - perfect on a hot day.

  5. Woot woot! Thanks team and Naked Wines, can't wait! :D
